Myself, wife and son enjoyed a meal each there when we had that little bit of sun this week, granted it only lasted a hour or so but it was long enough to enoy our meal in their beer garden.
The staff were very prompt and friendly, the food was good, though the actual meal my wife ordered from the menu was not available, though they offered something similar and she accepted.
She ended up with chicken breasts that was lets say, a little dry, but edible. My son had a very nice beans, sausage and chips, which he really enjoyed.
Though as before mentioned the chicken was a little dry, it was without its skin, which was a little disappointing, though in these health concious days that we are living in today, maybe it was a good thing.
One thing that I must congratulate the Cross Oaks on is their beer garden, what a delight. Bowling green grass, stunning flowers in hanging baskets and pots, a wooden bandstand, a small pond with bridge, really beautiful. Though I am not too sure about the greenhouse being in the same area, but if children are kept under control, there should not be any problems there either.
Generally a good meal, with great staff, and even a great beer garden. The cost is agreable too.
Though I must say that this is not a pub that we usually visit as we are not always in that area, but if ever we are agin and are looking for a bite to eat, we will visit the Cross Oaks again.
